Korea and Shantung Versus the White Peril ... The Anti-Japanese Agitation in California
Seoul: The Seoul Press, 1920. [2],36,[2]pp. Original grey printed wrappers. Moderate wear and soiling with some loss to text on covers. Minor soiling at edges of text block. About very good. Item #6342
A pair of articles reprinted by the English-language newspaper The Seoul Press, operating in Japanese-occupied Korea. The first article praises the Japanese efforts to maintain control over and civilize Korea and Shandong in China. The second is an opinion piece against the anti-Japanese sentiment in California -- which also happens to condemn outside critiques of Japan's Korean occupation. An ad for the newspaper on the rear cover notes that this is "The only English Daily Paper Published in Korea," and is "widely read in Korea, Japan and Manchuria." An interesting piece of propaganda printed by the occupied press.
