The volume covers cooking methods, table service, carving techniques, etiquette, and a wide range of recipes organized by dish types, including meats, fish, soups, sauces, confectionery, and beverages, as well as food preservation and notes on wines. The plate shows various animals-turned-meats with vivisection lines for carving. OCLC shows editions of the work as early as the 1830s, though most are located in just a single copy or two. We locate one copy of the present edition at the Bibliotheque Nationale.
