A rare admission certificate to a congregation in Mexico City, founded by Pope Alexander VII around 1665 to 1667 in honor of the Jesuit missionary, Francis Xavier. It includes a plenary indulgence, and lists the responsibilities of congregants, which include communion at least once a month, nightly prayers, teaching Christian doctrine to servants, and more. This example, printed in 1710, is made out for a new female member, Clara María Ximenez de los Cobos, by secretary Joseph de Zertuche on 1 July 1722, and bears his signature. Attractively printed, with a woodcut of Xavier, a double ornamental border, and large decorative initial. Not in Medina or OCLC.
