A Scarce Unionist broadside that proffers economic and statistical data to refute Copperhead assertions of the country's imminent financial collapse from the continuation of the Civil War. "The Copperheads assert that the War has ruined the Country; that we can never pay our debt; and that the war has proved a failure. Look at these diagrams, based on official records, and see if this is true...." The first diagram at the upper right compares the loyal population and land mass to these restored by the war effort and to the outstanding rebellious people and areas. The second diagram, directly to the right imagines the net worth of the property in the country compared against the debt incurred by the war. The final, largest diagram is a chart that depicts the debts and property values of Great Britain and the United States. Below is an interpretive text in two columns that demonstrates the folly of the Copperheads' arguments, eventually concluding, "Does this look like failure?...Is not such a nation able to carry on a War for its own salvation?" OCLC records just five institutional copies.
