Scarce 1850 issue of this Mexican gift book for women, which in its introduction claims to, "Ofrecer al bello sexo mexicano una coleccion de articulos que por su variedad puedan servir de agradable entretenimiento en los ratos de ocio." The contents are comprised principally of poetry, religious stories, and and moral tales, four of which are illustrated with lithograph plates. Interestingly, the other publications in the series, which ran only from 1847 to 1852, were printed by Ignacio Cumplido, whereas the present issue bears the imprint of Luis Gonzales. No individual copies catalogued of this 1850 issue in OCLC; nor could we locate any examples in the serial records.
