A scarce corrido that centers on events during the Battle of Cuernavaca, an important inflection point of the Mexican Revolution. During the period, Emiliano Zapata and Otilio Montaño Sanchez, a former school teacher, formulated the Plan de Ayala, whose ambitious land reforms would become the touchstone text of Zapatistas for years to come. This song tells of the reported misdeeds Zapata and his men and the area's defense by the Federal Mexican Army. The recto is illustrated by a Posada woodcut that depicts Emiliano Zapata and his brother Eufamio in revolutionary garb astride their horses; folial and decorative borders are used to frame the text on the verso.
