[Autograph Letter, Signed, by Jose Maria Silva, Written to Don Jose Salgado in Mexico City, Reacting to the Recognition of Texas by the United States]

Los Reyes, Michoacan, Mexico: September 18, 1836. [2]pp., plus manuscript docketing. Folded. Minor loss where previously sealed, otherwise light tanning and dust soiling. Very good. Item #5348

This letter between Mexican business colleagues attends firstly to financial matters, before turning to the state of affairs in Texas and cursing the United States for recognizing Texan independence:

An interesting reflection and interjection of Mexican sentiment amidst the uncertainty after San Jacinto.
