A scarce history of the Cultural Center for Migrants in Freehold, New Jersey, opened in the wake of the 1945 Migrant Labor Law "to provide a place where migrants could meet and find wholesome amusement and educational programs when they came to town during the weekends." Most of the area's 20,000 seasonal workers came to pick potatoes in Monmouth County, New Jersey in July after working in Florida in the spring and early summer. The present work is mostly comprised of the story of the cultural center, written by Lenora B. Willette, one of the center's earliest supporters. Willette's account includes background on the center's beginnings and early supporters, as well as information on registration and membership, activities at the center, religious services, "Patriotic Exercises," and a section of conclusions. OCLC reports nine copies, mostly in New Jersey.
