Scarce, early 20th-century photographic promotional for the town of Marshall, Missouri. The small town, located in Saline County midway between Kansas City and Columbia, was "third in the mule market of the United States" and "the best town in the best state of the Union" according to the introductory text on the title page verso. The remaining thirty-six pages contain reproductions of seventy-two photographs from the local McChesney studio as well as nine additional photocollages of McChesney images that depict architecture, activities, municipal buildings, businesses, industries, and prominent citizens of Marshall. OCLC locates only one copy, at Columbia (NY).
