An early 1867 broadside in which Vicente Cerna, President of Guatemala, announces that Mariscal de Campo Serapio Cruz has raised a rebellion in the jurisdiction of Sanarate for purely personal reasons and not for any that would justify true revolution. He calls on the citizens to remain calm while the government bring the situation to a peaceful and just resolution. Cerna concludes by saying:

"Los ciudadanos pacificos pueden descansae en la sugridad de que, el Gobierno sabrá hacerse respetar y en la conviccion de que indulgente por caracter, tengo sin embargo la conciencia de los altos deberes que me impone el puesto que ocupo, y sabré reprimir con la necesaria severidad a los perturbadores del órden, protejiendo los derechos de todos aquellos sean obedientes á la ley."

The rebellion was the first of two that Cruz led against the government of Cerna, the heir of the Carrera regime; the second led to his death in 1869. OCLC locates only two copies, at UC Berkeley and the University of Kansas.
