Rare promotional pamphlet for Pierre, South Dakota, and the surrounding region. This booklet contains numerous photographic reproductions that depict the architecture of Pierre at the beginning of the 20th century and the agricultural pursuits of the region, including a bird's-eye view of the town. The text discusses the "production of wealth unequalled" possible in South Dakota, and promotes opportunities in natural gas and oil in addition to a plethora of farming possibilities. Also with several testimonials of successful farmers and a section wonderfully titled, "A Plea for a More Manly Life, with South Dakota the Open Door." Not in OCLC.
