[Group of Seven Notices of Assessment on Salmon River Mining & Smelting Company Stock, Plus Ephemera]

[Butte, Mt. 1897-1899]. [7]pp., two typed and five handwritten sheets, plus four sheets with scratch arithmetic and two business cards. Previously folded. Light wear. Very good. Item #418

Seven notices of assessment on stock in the Salmon River Mining & Smelting Company, two typed and five handwritten, dating from 1897 to 1899, addressed to Leo Gramling, a local taxidermist in Butte, Montana. The Salmon River operation worked claims in Idaho beginning in 1881, and was headquartered in Butte. The fact that the Secretary of the mining company was H.C. Gramling does not seem coincidental. Also with some scratch calculations of assessment payments and business cards for Gramling's taxidermy practice and a Gramling real estate business in Salt Lake.
