Item #3428 Report of the Committee on Printing, to the House of Representatives of the State of Louisiana. Louisiana, Confederate Imprint.

Report of the Committee on Printing, to the House of Representatives of the State of Louisiana

Baton Rouge: J.M. Taylor, 1861. [3]pp. on a single folded sheet. Moderate staining, some chipping along fold line repaired with tissue, gutter reinforced with tape. Good. Item #3428

A very rare Confederate imprint issued by the government of Louisiana in an attempt to reduce the cost of public printing by avoiding duplication. The resolution would also pay the "Public Printer" according to the quantity of work printed and regulate his wages by law. The work reads like a tacit admission by the Confederate Louisiana government that resources have grown scarce. Parrish & Willingham record just two copies, at LSU and Georgia.
