Stevenson, Al. 1889. 16pp., plus prospectus laid in. Original printed wrappers, stapled. Light creasing to wrappers, mild edge wear. Mild even toning to text block. Very good plus. Item #3158
A rare promotional pamphlet touting the investment opportunities in Stevenson, Alabama, located "in the heart of the Alabama and Tennessee Coal, Iron and Timber Region." The work was produced by the Stevenson Land and Improvement Company, who spend considerable space in the work relating Stevenson's advantages to investors, with sections focusing on the area's iron, coal, timber, and health opportunities. In the last portion of the text, the company takes the last two-and-a-half pages to detail itself. The inside rear cover is printed with a map of the Stevenson area, with particular focus on the aforementioned natural resources. Stevenson is located on the Tennessee River in northern Alabama, about equidistant from Huntsville and Chattanooga. OCLC reports just three copies, at Duke, Appalachian State, and the Wisconsin Historical Society.
