Unusual anti-Vietnam fiction with a Chicano protagonist. The main character, Eduardo O'Reilly Menendez, states that he was born "in the south of a state that used to be a part of Mexico." The first half of the work chronicles the destitution of his life as a migrant worker in the South, which eventually forces him to join the army, whereupon he is sent to Vietnam and witnesses many horrors. Apparently the only work by this author, it was translated into a more common edition in English five years later.
