[Burlington, Ia. Burlington and Missouri River Railroad Company, ca. 1872]. 24pp. 24mo. Original yellow printed wrappers. Light soiling and wear. Very good. Item #1132
Lovely little promotional work advertising lands along the Burlington Route in Nebraska and Iowa. At this time the Burlington Route ran from Burlington, Iowa, across Iowa and Nebraska to Fort Kearney, where it linked up with the Union Pacific. The present work is comprised primarily of price charts for lands in Iowa and Nebraska, with interest rates and terms on different acreages. "These Iowa and Nebraska lands are not exceeded in fertility, beauty and all attractions and advantages of locality and soil which are essential in the estimation of farmers, by any region in the world...." A map of the route is printed on the rear cover. An ephemeral little piece -- not located in OCLC.
