As per usual, we will have a wide array of archives and interesting imprints with us.  Highlights include a photographic archive documenting sealing in the Pribilof Islands of Alaska; a New Testament in the Cree language; a large paper copy of Thomas Nuttall’s American Sylva in a contemporary striped cloth binding; a gorgeous bespoke album of photographs of Mexico by Paul-Emile Miot; a group of documents on the trans-Atlantic slave trade; numerous interesting pieces of Latin and Western Americana, and much more.

List 35 is our first list devoted entirely to Mexico and its imprints.  We offer herein thirty items on a wide variety of subjects, from railroads to literature to history and viewbooks.  Highlights include a rare viewbook of Tamaulipas; an illustrated, satirical newspaper from the 1890s; a group of children’s books; imprints from Puebla, Saltillo, and Durango; two different printer’s cancels; and much more.  Enjoy!

The present list is comprised of twenty-five collections of vernacular photographs, primarily as albums, from a wide variety of times and places.  Highlights include agricultural photography from early-20th century New Mexico; two mid-20th century African American family photo albums from the Western United States; phosphate mining in Florida; images from the Jacksonville Fire of 1901; an album kept by a member of the Y.W.C.A. in Hawaii; several women’s travel albums; several family travel albums from the American West and the national parks; a teenage girl’s photo scrapbook from Skagway, Alaska; and more.  Enjoy!

We’re kicking off the New Year with a bang, offering thirty manuscript and archival items on a wide array of subjects. Materials include a collection of letters from the Mexican-American War; an archive of letters detailing mining activities in Costa Rica; an important archive of a naval officer in Florida during the Civil War, including details of an outbreak of yellow fever; a Reconstruction-era ledger recording the farming activities of Blacks in post-Civil War Virginia; travel diaries from Alaska and California; a large archive of a woman’s teaching career in Montana; several nice pieces of Texana; and more. List #32 - African Americana

This list contains thirty items documenting the historical Black experience in America. Items range in date from the mid-18th through the mid-20th century, and include photographs, manuscript materials, ephemera, and printed works.  Highlights include a vernacular photo album recording rare images of workers in southeast Texas; a large broadside advertising an African American comedian touring in Australia; documents on slavery in Cuba; a rare 1890 directory from Baton Rouge noting "colored" citizens; a volume of tracts assembled and presented by abolitionist Anthony Benezet; and a handsome vernacular album of an Oakland family from the 1910s.  Enjoy!
